Sunset bar
words: Robert Campbell
music: Robert Campbell & Mike Sheppard
images: Robert Campbell & Eric Gavin

Take a cab, take a bus, take a subway
Down to Bleecker Street
Ask anyone you meet
They'll know where we are
The sunset Bar is the kind of place
For people to meet
First door on the right
It's open all night

Grab a seat, Have a drink
Have a look at all the people there
See you standing up by the bar
Looking at me
One scotch, no water, no ice
It's just a word away
First door on the right
It's open all night

Welcome to the Sunset Bar
Welcome to the Sunset Bar
Welcome to the Sunset Bar

I took a cab, I took a bus, I took a subway
Down to Bleecker Steet
Falling in love again
With nothing to lose
You see, the Sunset Bar is the kinda place
For people to meet
First door on the right
It's open all night

Welcome to the Sunset Bar
Welcome to the Sunset Bar
Welcome to the Sunset Bar

Welcome to the Sunset Bar
Welcome to the Sunset Bar
Welcome to the Sunset Bar

Take a cab, take a bus, take a subway
Down to Bleecker Street
The Sunset Bar is the place to be
The sunset Bar is the kind of place
For people to meet
The Sunset Bar is the place to be
Grab a seat, Have a drink
Have a look at all the people there
The Sunset Bar is the place to be
One scotch, no water, no ice
It's just a word away
The Sunset Bar is the place to be

First door on the right
It's open all night

II had to choose a song to play at Mike's memorial service and this was the choice. It was the song we wrote together that he made his own and on this recording he's singing the lead vocal. At the memorial service I sang the song with Steve Lipson. It was a chance to meet a lot of faces from the past.
