Running out of time
words: Robert Campbell
music: Robert Campbell
images: Nobby Clark

A room
In the dark
A room in the dark
Shadows
Watching the shadows
On the wall
The wall
Meeting the ceiling
The ceiling
A light
A light in the dark
And me
Here
Walking
Walks
Talking
Talks
Drinking
Drinks
Thinking
Thinks
I'm running out of time
I'm running out of time

A mirror
I'm looking in a mirror
Watching you
Watching him
Watching her
Watching me
It's a game
It's only a game
You win
I lose
Please
I'm running out of time
I'm running out of time

Sometimes it's hard to explain
When no-one seems to be listening
Some other place some other time
But I'm running out of time
I'm running out of time
I'm running out of time

A room
In the dark
A room in the dark
Shadows
Watching the shadows
On the walls
The walls
Meeting the ceiling
The ceiling
A light
A light in the dark
And me
Here
Walking
Walks
Talking
Talks
Drinking
Drinks
Thinking
Thinks
I'm running out of time
I'm running out of time

Sometimes it's hard to explain
When no-one seems to be listening
Some other place some other time
But I'm running out of time
I'm running out of time
I'm running out of time

We recorded this in the Moody Blues Threshold Studios in 1977 with Ray Warleigh on sax and Chris Demetriou producing. The song comes at the start of the second act of the show as Dean reflects on how little time he has.
